Douglas Egere has over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry. He is a qualified and experienced Air Navigation Safety Inspector.
He was General Manager of Air Navigation Surveillance at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and Consultant to the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority.
He has made significant contributions in the oversight of air navigation services including the development of civil aviation regulations and other documents relating to the establishment and provision of air navigation services by the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
He played a major role in the ICAO Audit of Nigeria, in 2016 and the ICAO Audit of Sierra Leone, in 2023. A member of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Panel on Aeronautical Meteorology, 2012 to 2021 and Chairman, of ICAO Cooperative Development of Aeronautical Meteorology Services, West and Central African Region Programme, 2010 to 2014.
Trained in ISO 20700-2017, Douglas is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants-Nigeria and a Member, of the Nigerian Meteorological Society.
His academic and professional qualifications include a B.Sc (Physics), from the University of Nigeria, an M.Sc (Physics-Meteorology), from the University of Ibadan, an MBA (Operations Research), from the University of Lagos, a Certificate in Project Management, Environmental Systems Analysis, Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Safety & Environment).
